Job Summary:

North Plains Electric Cooperative is seeking a dependable and safety-minded Groundman to join our operations team for summer employment (seasonal position only). The Groundman assists linemen in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electric distribution lines and equipment. This position involves physical outdoor work in all types of weather and requires attention to safety and teamwork. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist line crews with materials, tools, and equipment during line construction and maintenance.

• Operate and maintain trucks and equipment under supervision.

• Perform groundwork such as digging holes, setting poles, and handling conductors.

• Maintain job site cleanliness and safety.

• Learn and follow cooperative safety procedures and work practices.

Qualifications:

• Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

• Physical exam and drug test required.
