We are pleased to continue the scholarship program to benefit the rural communities in the North Plains Electric Cooperative service area.

In 2023, North Plains will give six scholarships. These scholarships will be available for attendance to state and private universities, junior colleges, or vocational schools.  Scholarships will be administered by the Amarillo Area Foundation.

Six $1,500 member scholarships will be available to active members, children of active members, employees, or board members of North Plains Electric Cooperative, Inc. These may be traditional college bound high school graduates, current college students of any classification, or persons wishing to continue their education.

North Plains will give one scholarship to a person residing in each of the five areas within the NPEC service area. Areas are grouped as the following: Gruver/ Morse, Spearman, Perryton, Canadian/ Fort Elliott/ Miami, Booker/ Darrouzett / Follett. A sixth scholarship will be chosen from one of the five regional areas based on the guidelines as provided.  If no qualified applicants in an area exist additional recipient(s) will be selected.

Home-schooled students are also eligible for scholarships.
